1. Introduction
Sweet and chewy on the inside, hemp cookies have a delicate crust on the outside that makes them perfect for sharing as softer cookies with a nutty flavour. Chances are, you already have everything you need to make this dish in your pantry.
Butter is a must-have ingredient in this recipe. Sweetening agents other than maple syrup include honey, corn syrup, almond flour, or molasses; we have used maple syrup. If you’d rather use regular white sugar, simply increase the amount of milk in the recipe by three tablespoons instead of two.
Arrowroot or cornstarch can be used in a 1:1 ratio to replace tapioca flour as a thickening agent. Rice flour and almond flour can be substituted for two tablespoons of tapioca flour if you prefer. Last but not least, baking powder is needed.
Even though it is safe to consume, it may not be what you were hoping for. The type of Butter you include in your recipe should never come into touch with baking powder, which is why it should be the final ingredient to be added. Your cookies may turn green if they come close to those two components while baking.

Sunflower seeds are used to make sun butter. This is an excellent solution for people who are allergic to peanut butter or other tree nuts. Protein, fibre, Vitamin E, zinc, and iron are all abundant in this dish.
Even if you have no food allergies, you'll enjoy using this as a substitute in your cooking. A mild flavour makes it easy to substitute in recipes and is kid-friendly for your picky eaters, making it a great choice for your family.
Sunflower butter hemp cookie ingredients include:
Ingredients
-
One cup of applesauce and one cup of Sunflower Hemp Butter
-
This recipe calls for six teaspoonfuls of maple syrup.
-
2 tbsp. of your favourite milk
-
Tapioca flour: 6 tbsp.
-
1/3 of a cup of cornstarch
Directions
- Make the Sunflower Hemp Butter by combining it with maple syrup, applesauce, and milk. Add the tapioca flour in a slow, lump-free, stirring motion. Finally, whisk in the baking powder until thoroughly combined.
- Adding baking powder ensures that it does not come into contact with the Sunflower Butter. Your cookies may turn green if they closely interact with those two ingredients.
- Even though it is safe to consume, it may not be what you were hoping for. This dough is silky and easy to work with. Flatten the dough into small circles and place them on a baking pan.
- In a 350-degree Fahrenheit oven, bake the cookies for about ten minutes or until the edges are browned. Before moving the cookies to a platter, allow them to cool in the oven.
- Enjoy! In an airtight container, you can keep leftovers for up to four days. In total, this recipe yields 18 cookies.

The Bottom Line
Hemp heart cookies made with peanut butter and Medjool dates are soft, chewy, and naturally sweetened. An all-natural vegan protein cookie recipe that is gluten- and refined sugar-free.
Compared to other seeds, such as chia seeds, which have a particularly crispy texture, hemp cookies are little and lack any flavour. Hemp plant seeds go well with nut butter or dairy-free yoghurt because of their excellent nutty flavour.
Micronutrients such as magnesium, calcium, zinc, and iron are included in Hemp cookies. Hemp seeds are an excellent source of vegan protein and other essential elements that don’t require supplements.
